2. David Fincher
Talented; skilful and unable to grab the attention of the Academy no matter how many prestige movie he makes. Fincher would be an experienced person to guide The Dark Knight through a potentially uneasy transition whilst also being able to craft a brilliant story. Having helped bring stories about organised violence and false idealisation to life in Fight Club, as well as bringing in the psychological aspect and adding a psychopath in to midst with Se7en he would be perfect to help anchor a Batman film about possibly some of its more twisted villains whilst keeping the reality of the emotion there. Having a taste for both smooth, vibrant direction as well as bringing dark and imposing overtones he could be a brilliant director to make Batman darker and more mature as its current audience goes through the same transition.
