5 Films Nominated For Razzies In 2015 That Really Aren't That Bad
4. Vacation
Chevy Chase was actually nominated for Worst Supporting Actor at the Razzies for two films in 2015 - Hot Tub Time Machine 2, and the Vacation reboot. The former is arguably deserved, but the nod to his pleasing cameo in Vacation feels like it's just been tacked on as another body blow. The reason why is obvious, too - 'oh, Chevy Chase did make two cameos this year, so we must as well just nominate him for both'. It's a lazy decision and lacks reasoning, tongue-in-cheek joke or no. Regardless, as a reboot to the well-loved National Lampoon Vacation movies, Vacation does the trick. Dweeb-y Ed Helms is a fitting replacement for original king of the nerds Anthony Michael Hall as Rusty Griswold, and Christina Applegate ably takes on the midlife-crisis angle that was so stringent in the original 1983 Vacation. When Chase does pop up for his cameo, it's good, nostalgic fun, and the notoriously grumpy actor is clearly relishing being involved. Why he would then be nominated for Worst Supporting Actor nod is a mystery.
