5 Superheroes Who Shouldn't Get Their Own Film

5. Ant-Man

ant-man The film Ant-Man has already be slated for a November 2015 release in the USA and has been confirmed as the first film of Phase Three of Marvel€™s cinematic universe. The storyline is to be centred on the original Ant-Man, Dr. Henry €˜Hank€™ Pym. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the story, the Biochemist experiments with a group of subatomic particles with gives him the ability to alter his size to extreme levels. After several altercations, Hank Pym ends up creating a way to communicate and control insects, thus creating Ant-Man. The next Ant-Man, Scott Lang become the second man to use the suit after stealing the attire from Henry Pym to help save his daughter from a heart condition, Lang later went on to be part of the Fantastic Four and The Avengers. According to the information that has been released regarding the film both Hank Pym and Scott Lang are set be main characters, suggesting that this is the story the film will likely take. For me, Ant-Man is one of those films Marvel does not have to make. If they have nowhere else to go with any of their other superheroes I may be more inclined to see it, but the fact Marvel have been incredibly productive with Iron Man, Captain America and Thor they could really focus on other characters. I am assuming that Ant-Man will be part of a future Avengers or Fantastic Four film but to base a whole film on the character doesn€™t make any sense. The fact that Henry Pym and Scott Lang are part of the film actually disappoints me. If Marvel studios told the story of Eric O€™Grady, the third and final Ant-Man the story could have been a great way to fill part of the next summer blockbuster. Eric O€™Grady is a less experienced agent of S.H.I.E.L.D who ends up stumbling across the Ant-Man suit whilst snooping around in S.H.I.E.L.D€™s headquarters. If Marvel are serious about including Ant-Man into the cinematic world, they should have referenced the Ant-Man suit in a Phase Two film and then used Ant-Man as a member of Avengers 2. All it takes is for Captain America to ask Nick Fury a question about other heroes whilst he was under in the ice. Fury could very easily tell Steve Rodgers about the incident of Hank Pym and Scott Lang, whilst Eric O€™Grady was listening in, and then say, but €œS.H.I.E.L.D now hold the suit.€ What is even more disappointing is the €˜test footage€™ that was shown as Comic-Con. The footage shows Ant-Man decreasing his size and taking out two bodyguards by jumping into the mouth of one and grabbing the tie of another. I€™m not sure if it€™s just me, but personally the whole idea looks ridiculous. Whilst Ant-Man is being filmed, Marvel might actually intend on bringing Eric O€™Grady in a similar way to how I have a mentioned in the previous paragraph. Regardless of whether O€™Grady is ever used we are all going to have to sit through an hour and a half of an insect battling the cracks in the pavement.
