50 God-Tier Acting Moments Buried in Bad Movies

12. Pete Posthelwaite - Jurassic Park: The Lost World

Steven Spielberg, after directing Pete Postlethwaite in this regrettable sequel to a blockbuster classic, described Postlethwaite as the best actor in the world. That really says it all.

The late, great actor, who sadly passed away in 2011, was one of the greatest character actors in the industry, enhancing many films - In the Name of the Father, The Usual Suspects, Romeo + Juliet, just to name a few - with his incredible work. Once again, that's the case here. Roland Tembo isn't in The Lost World for very long, but you're likely to forget that, as he's by far the most memorable character in the film, and Postlethwaite just owns it.

Postlethwaite's badass, charismatic performance as this confident dinosaur hunter makes it practically impossible to look away from him any second he's on-screen. Thanks to the actor's work, Tembo is not just the best character in this movie, but he's arguably the best character in any of the Jurassic Park sequels. There have been five more movies since The Lost World, and none of them have come up with anybody nearly as cool as this guy.
