50 God-Tier Acting Moments Buried in Bad Movies
8. Christopher Walken - A View To A Kill
You've gotta love Christopher Walken. He's one of those actors who virtually always improves anything he's in, and such was the case here.
A View to a Kill is a disastrous James Bond instalment and possibly the worst out of the franchise's 25 films, but one of the many wonderful things about the Bond series is that every instalment has something great in it, and that's still the case here.
Specifically, A View to a Kill has Christopher Walken devouring scenery as evil billionaire Max Zorin. Both charming and unnervingly evil, this is a spot-on portrayal of a sadistic psychopath that's just on the right side of hammy, ensuring that Zorin stands tall and proud as one of the finest James Bond villains of them all. Throughout the franchise, the best Bond villains have usually been a distinctive mixture of hammy and scary, and Walken hits the nail right on the head here.
The less said about the rest of the movie - which features a visibly almost-60-year-old Roger Moore bedding women young enough to be his daughters and stumbling awkwardly through many clunky action scenes - the better, but Christopher Walken's deliciously entertaining performance will always be something to treasure.
