50 God-Tier Acting Moments Buried in Bad Movies

45. The Post Office Scene - Men In Black 2

Men in Black II
Sony Pictures Releasing

1997's Men in Black has not aged well at all. It's so kitsch and so overtly '90s that it's hard to sit through now, with the only thing that really keeps it watchable being Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones' delicious comedic chemistry.

Plenty of other movies have matched up a jokester rookie with a stern, no-nonsense veteran, though few have done it better. Smith and Jones were great together in the original, and they only did one more instalment together, as Men in Black 3 mostly paired Smith up with a younger version of Jones' character (played by Josh Brolin), and the spin-off MIB: International (the less said, the better!) didn't feature either character.

Men in Black 2 was a thoroughly underwhelming sequel, so much so that it was an entire decade before Men in Black 3 came out. Nevertheless, Smith and Jones still smashed it, regardless of the inferior material, as they show in the scene where their characters reunite.

J (Smith) goes to find K (Jones), who'd had his memory wiped when he left the Men in Black, and K is found to be working in a postal office in Massachusetts. Once again, the pair are hilarious together, with Smith's wacky comedic shenanigans being made even more hilarious by Jones' stone-faced, exasperated response to them. Smith also beatboxes in this scene, which was very funny.
