50 Infuriating Horror Movie Characters We All Secretly Wanted To Die
35. Bride Of Chucky - Warren Kincaid
Parents and guardians can be overprotective, sure, but this guy from 1998's deliciously entertaining Bride of Chucky took things way too far.
Controlling police chief Warren Kincaid (John Ritter) was so intent on preventing his niece Jade (Katherine Heigl) from seeing her boyfriend Jesse (Nick Stabile) that he got his colleague, Officer Norton (Michael Louis Johnson), to tail them and even tried planting drugs in Jesse's trailer in order to frame him.
And why is he so against Jesse? Well, in his words to Jade, "Until [you're 18] I'm stuck with you, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna let you embarrass me by winding up on Jerry Springer with some trailer trash low-life." So, he's not only controlling and corrupt, he's also a massive bigot.
Jade and Jesse are quite a likable couple who do genuinely care for each other, so Kincaid's repeated efforts to ruin their relationship helped to make him - save, perhaps, for Child's Play 3's insufferable child lead, Tyler - the single-most annoying character in the history of a franchise which, to its credit, doesn't have too many annoying characters.
Kincaid's efforts to plant drugs lead to him being killed by Chucky and Tiffany, who Jesse is transporting to New Jersey in exchange for money. Ritter's character gets a load of nails in the face for his troubles. His associate, Officer Norton, also deserves a shout-out for being a slimy A-hole.
