50 Infuriating Horror Movie Characters We All Secretly Wanted To Die

15. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre - Franklin

The Texas Chain Saw's Franklin (Paul A. Partain) is often a shoo-in for lists like this one, and there's a very good reason for that.

The wheelchair-bound brother of Final Girl Sally Hardesty (Marilyn Burns), Franklin spends the entire time whining and being rude to his fellow travellers. There's a particular moment, where he's ranting about the others and blowing raspberries, that is so irritating that it's actually kind of hard to watch. Many probably fast-forward it on repeat viewings.

Even Franklin's own sister seems to find him to be pretty hard work, and who can blame her? As such, some viewers probably cheered when Franklin met his demise at the end of Leatherface's chainsaw. They might've felt a bit guilty afterwards, as they were cheering on the death of a disabled character, but then again, this guy was an absolute headache and one of the most annoying horror movie characters of them all, something that Partain himself was engagingly open about.

There is, funnily enough, one good scene involving Franklin. In The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, there's a moving sequence where his uncle (Dennis Hopper) discovers Franklin's skeleton. But when he was alive? Nope, he was intolerable.
