50 Movie Death Scenes That Left You TRAUMATISED

Some films are designed to make audiences happy, sad, confused, or even angry. But if you ever want to watch a film that is designed to just make you cry, then Marley and Me may be the one for you.

Getting a pet is something that can help complete a family, as it did for John and Jenny (Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston) in Marley and Me, but there is always something bubbling under the surface. Generally, owners know that they will outlive their pets, but it's something that just isn't talked about or acknowledged.

No, John and Jenny would never have expected Marley to outlive them, but that doesn't make the moment any easier. Losing a pet is losing a member of the family, even if, like Marley, he was uncontrollable and difficult.

When Marley suffered an intestinal disorder, he was too old for surgery, and so had to be put down. Whether you're a pet owner or not, or a dog person or not, if you're a human, chances are this was difficult watching. It doesn't matter that this was the right thing to do, choosing to end a dog's life, no matter the pain they are being saved from, is never anything short of devastating.
