Everyone remembers the famous 'woman in the red dress' scene from The Matrix, particularly Keanu Reeves, who couldn't take his eyes off her.

The computer simulation that Morpheus used during Neo's training was supposed to show him how The Matrix works, with the scarlet-clad lady standing out from the crowd to teach him a valuable lesson about vigilance and machine trickery.

To make doubly sure she did just that, directors The Wachowskis surrounded her with extras and their doppelgangers, and this wasn't a piece of CGI wizardry.

The filmmakers scoured Sydney and recruited scores of twins and triplets for the set piece to ensure Neo and the woman were surrounded by a sea of homogeneity.

The Wachowskis attention to detail here is mind-blowing, but most of the audience didn't even notice - they were too busy looking at the woman in the red dress.
