For many Star Wars fans the dream is to fly in the Millennium Falcon, at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge you can finally live out your childhood fantasy!

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run puts you right in the cockpit of Han Solo's famous ship. Disney have gone all out to make you feel like you are standing in the Millennium Falcon. You will even hang out in the "chess room" whilst you wait for it to be your time to fly.

You'll even meet one of the most technologically advanced animatronics ever created. Hondo Ohnaka is smuggler known to fans of the animated Star Wars shows and it's him who you will be running supplies for.

Depending what you have been assigned to, you will take either the role of a pilot, gunner of flight engineer. How well you do at these tasks will also make an impact on what happens. Disney confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that should the gunners miss an incoming TIE Fighter you might receive damaging blows from the First Order, damage that your flight engineer will need to repay.

Not only will your performance impact the attraction, it will also affect your reputation. Thanks to the Play Disney Parks Mobile App your performance will be logged, so if you crash the Falcon or take out a record number of TIE Fighters all the citizens of Black Spire Outpost will know.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is the other attraction coming to Galaxy's Edge and is set to be one of the biggest rides Disney has ever created.

In the attraction you'll meet Po, Finn, Rey and Kylo Ren as you try to help the Resistance in their fight against the First Order. It is the longest ride that Disney has put together. When speaking to Disney, Entertainment Weekly confirmed that you'll find yourself aboard a transport ship flown by Lando Calrissian's co-pilot Nien Nunb, in a First Order Interrogation room and eventually face-to-face with Kylo Ren.

This incredible ride won't open with the rest of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge but will instead come as part of a second phase later in the year. Disney's decision was based on the demand from fans to experience the land as soon as possible.

So who else is ready to run off and join the Resistance or perhaps the First Order?

Phase 1 of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is set to open in Disneyland Park in California on 31st May and at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida on 29th August.
