1. People Play Video Games Like They're From Another Planet
As if video games don't get a bad enough wrap already, movie characters seem to be purposely pushing the stereotype that all gamers are excitable dorks who can't help but get so caught up in their games that they're unable to keep physically still. Seriously: it's as if these people have ingested an entire case of Red Bull and must therefore imitate the intricate metamorphosis of fish into human. Because whenever somebody in a movie is holding a controller, they're almost always moving their body about in a fit-like motion and bashing the buttons like the only game ever made was
Track & Field. People who have actually ever played video games know that you don't need to move the controller
at all. Mostly you need to just concentrate on what's happening on the screen, and if you were to start smashing the buttons and actually dodging enemies in your front room, you're just going to scare your family and - worse still - have to start the level again. Video games are nerdy, but they're not
that nerdy. Probably.
