8 Actors Who Parodied Themselves In 2013 Movies

2 & 1. Arnold Schwarzenegger/Sylvester Stallone Finally Make A Movie Together - Escape Plan

Escape Plan Review Granted, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone appeared together briefly in The Expendables, but it's 2012's Escape Plan which marks the musclebound duo's first true movie together - who knows why it took so long? The pair have been parodying themselves for a good few years now, of course, especially Stallone, who built an entire franchise out of the idea of sending up his career with The Expendables (the third movie is out next year). Rather surprisingly, however, there's a far lesser sense of "we're parodying all our '80s movies" in Escape Plan than audiences might have expected - for the most part, the colossal actors play it marginally straight, and only very occasionally does the film feel like it's trying to get by on nostalgia alone. Still, there's no denying the fact - given its lead actors - this is a "parody" in every sense of the word. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite deliver in all the ways a Schwarzenegger and Stallone movie promises to, but it's worth watching to see the pair united. Like this article? Who have we missed?
