8 Arrogant Movie Stars With Disgracefully Large Egos

8. Vin Diesel Thinks Fast Five Is Oscar-Worthy

Ff To gauge what Vin Diesel is actually like it painfully difficult. Carving out a deep voiced niche as muscled criminals with Riddick and Dominic Toretto, he spends his free time being one of the most prolific fans of Dungeons And Dragons; those aren't things that really go hand in hand. Sit down with him for an interview however and it€™s pretty easy to get a lock on him; he€™s painfully deluded. When Fast Five took a franchise created essentially to bring teenage fans of need For Speed to the cinemas and injected some genuine fun (how can you go four films and not realise that should be the selling point) critics keen to show they weren't just into stuffy arthouse flicks and long term fans cheered. But no one was more glowing in their praise of the movie than Diesel himself, who stated he thought the film, released in the pre-summer purgatory, should be considered as a serious Oscar contender. I know positive reviews have been scarce in recent years (it had been over ten years since he got anything close to a good critical reaction), but being a bit more fun doesn't get you a golden baldie. And no, that wasn't a one off claim to promote the movie; every time he opens his mouth to discuss a film something questionable comes out. Talking about the Riddick franchise both he and director David Twohy talked of the character and films as if they were sci-fi icons. Might want to rain check on that guys.
