8 Euro Trash Movies That Really Scrape The Barrel

2. Zombie Creeping Flesh (1982)

Zzzz Known under a plethora of different titles (which usually indicates the movie is a piece of crap) Zombie Creeping Flesh, directed by Bruno Mattei, is a truly hideous, terrible film. It will either stun you to disbelief with its sheer ineptitude, or make you kill yourself laughing if you are game for crappy movies. The plot is threadbare - a woman and a four man SWAT team venture into the jungle and meet some zombies. There is actually some pretty good gore but it is over-shadowed by stupid use of stock footage, a dreadful script and dire acting, pathetic dubbing. The music is lifted directly from Goblin's work on George Romero's Dawn of the Dead and another Goblin score from a film called Alien Contamination. I think this was very cheeky of Mattei. Using Goblin music in this film is like throwing pearls before swine. Mattei lifts many ideas in the film straight from Dawn of the Dead and the film is totally devoid of any intelligence. One for the most hardcore zombie trash addicts.

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
