In 2006, director Adam Green brought the world Hatchet.

Set in the swamps of New Orleans, Hatchet saw a group of terrified tourists trying to survive an encounter with Victor Crowley, the deformed son of a local man who died many years ago in a fire.

Though not a major hit, Hatchet certainly found an audience who appreciated its attempts to revive classic American horror. This led to the production of two sequels, before the series fell silent in 2013.

Four years later, at a tenth anniversary screening of the original film, Green made a shocking announcement. He was pregnant! Wait, that's not right. He'd actually made another Hatchet movie.

Entitled Victory Crowley, this new movie premiered that very night and welcomed fans back into the world of Hatchet. This was a very welcome surprise, as Green had said on multiple previous occasions that he was done with the franchise.

And who do we have to thank for this latest instalment? None other than horror legend George A. Romero, who convinced Green to make the film at the Rock and Shock convention.

Seriously, was there anything that man couldn't do?
