8 Incredibly Annoying Movie Characters (Who Totally Deserve Spin-Offs)

1. Wendy Torrance - The Shining

ShiningShelleyMes Oh, Wendy. I don't know what to say about you, really. I know you're annoying. Everybody who has seen The Shining knows you're annoying. Did Kubrick cast you because you were annoying? What did that great director see in you that the rest of us didn't? Maybe it's that you look good screaming - and by good, I mean "horrible, but definitely realistic." That's to say, Wendy, who made the mistake of getting married to Jack "Here's Johnny!" Torrance, spends most of the movie whining and looking put out and miserable. So much so, in fact, that when Jack eventually comes after her with an axe and admits that he wants to murder her dead, we're all kind of willing him to get the job done. The Spin-Off: "The Former Mrs. Torrance" This is an Oscar-bait movie of the highest proportions. If it doesn't win at least a couple of major awards, then it really hasn't achieved its goal. "The Former Mrs. Torrance" is based around the idea that Wendy, years after the breakdown and death of her husband, still longs for his company. She just never got over him after the incident in the mountains. It basically spends most of its runtime asking the question: "What's it like moving on with your life having been married to an axe murderer?" I mean, there just aren't enough movies dealing with issues like that. Of course, we get to have some amusing scenes with Wendy in group therapy recounting the "redrum" story (hilarious!), and there's a bit where Danny comes to visit her one day and she tells him she's thinking about buying a snowmobile. But really this is serious. And you should take it as such. Like this article? Let us know in the comments section below.
