8 MCU Characters Who Deserve Their Own Movie
2. Hank Pym & Janet Van Dyne
Ant-Man and The Wasp (2018) was a brilliant film and a welcome change in pace from the numbing end of Infinity War. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly proved to be a great team, fans were finally introduced to Hope's mother, and Ghost was an entertaining threat. But as with Ant-Man (2015), it was Michael Douglas' performance as Hank Pym which stood out.
Hank was the original Ant-Man, working alongside his wife Janet van Dyne/The Wasp (Michelle Pfeiffer) to stop the bad guys and save the day. His understanding of the Quantum Realm also proved detrimental to the events of Endgame.
Douglas has expressed his interest in perhaps portraying a younger Hank Pym in a future film, and whilst this would add a great narrative to the next Ant-Man vehicle, Hank and Janet's time as superheroes would best be explored in a movie of their own.
Watching two hours of the original heroes taking down bad guys and saving the world would be a fantastic, nostalgic addition the MCU, and could even give Marvel the chance to explore the aftermath of Janet's sacrifice.
The story's there - it just needs someone to scoop it up and make it happen.
