8 Mistakes That Will Ruin Upcoming Movies

The Mistake: Recycling the plot of The Lost World.

2015's Jurassic World was a fine reinvigoration of the flailing franchise, but - amongst other issues - it was far too similar to the plot of the original Jurassic Park for it to be considered a bonafide creative success.

Both movies centre around a group of people at a prehistoric theme park (one open, one closed, but it's the same core idea), including a dino expert, a couple of kids and a female love interest, whose day soon takes a turn for the worse when the attractions are released from their cages.

It was hoped that the sequel would put more effort into crafting an original, complex story, but all evidence suggests that it will again be a slightly different version of a tale we've seen many times before.

This time around, the dinosaurs will be taken from their natural jungle habitat and thrust into a man-made one. In the trailer, we saw one of the creatures on a boat, but it's safe to assume that some will be let loose in cities and inside buildings.

And this is the exact same plot as the latter half of The Lost World: Jurassic Park. We've already seen dinosaurs taken from their home and to the mainland; it's been done before, in this very franchise, no less. We haven't even mentioned the likes of King Kong, which has been following a similar template since 1933.

It just feels a little lazy, so hopefully we're wrong and Fallen Kingdom is packing plenty of surprising developments in its second half.
