9 Blatant Lies Filmmakers Told To Keep Their Movies Unspoiled

3. Chris Nolan Said Robin Would Never Appear In His Batman Movies

The more grounded take on the Batman seen in The Dark Knight movies didn€™t seem to leave much room for the Boy Wonder to appear. Christian Bale famously said he€™d chain himself up and refuse to go to work if Robin was introduced and Nolan himself stated the character wouldn€™t fit in the world he€™d set up. But when Joseph Gordon-Levitt was announced to be playing young cop John Blake in The Dark Knight Rises that Robin rumour wouldn€™t go away. He never outright denied he was playing the character, but the official line was that Blake was an original creation. In the final product Blake essentially serves the function of Robin (as reimagined by Nolan) throughout until Bruce Wayne officially passes the baton to him, and it's revealed his real name actually is Robin. Of course he would have made a great superhero if he got a chance to step into the suit, but the reveal of his name was a little cringeworthy.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
