8. Jamie Lee Curtis Is The Uncredited Narrator - Escape From New York
Jamie Lee Curtis and John Carpenter became good mates after making Halloween and The Fog together, so the rumour she made a voice cameo in Escape From New York sounds plausible. A female voice is heard narrating the opening - which explains why New York was turned into a prison - and the voice is also heard while Snake Plisskin is being escorted around a base.
The voice certainly sounds like Jamie, so for years people jumped to that conclusion. It was only shut down years later when Carpenter was asked about the supposed cameo in an interview, and he flatly denied it was her.
The voice has since been credited to actress Kathleen Blancard, who reprised her narrator role years later for Escape From L.A too.
