4. Ferris Bueller - Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Back when I said 'insane' is a kind of a broad term, I was thinking of this character. In some respects, a character could be deemed insane just by the sheer mind power it would take to exist as that person on a daily basis. These characters are not necessarily bad to have around, and could really serve to better any given high school or downtown parade experience. In the case of the title hero in John Hughes' "Ferris Bueller's Day Off', his insanity could be construed as some crazy IQ thing or divine intervention, if you are so inclined. He is just that baffling. Ferris Bueller is a guy that has somehow built up a complicated web of a reputation around his high school, all of which serves to his advantage. He has a holy omniscient presence that makes him almost more of a concept than just some kid. There is the established that he is a figment of his good friend Cameron's imagination, and that they are one in the same. But without even going that far, Bueller is clearly a representation of the unattainable cool kid, a status way too insane to comprehend as a teenager. In just the one day that the film takes place within, he masterminds the points in time to perfectly navigate the most awesome day anyone has ever had without getting in any trouble. He leads a full parade in song and dance, and all he gets is a suspicious principal who is ultimately deemed insane himself.
