9 Upcoming Movies That Are Unofficial Remakes
3. Brothers = Twins
It was announced back in February that Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage will co-star in Brothers, a comedy starring the actors as an unlikely pair of brothers.
Though more concrete information is being kept tight-lipped for now, the film has reportedly been developed by Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder, Holmes & Watson) in the vein of the classic 1988 buddy comedy Twins.
Twins of course starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as a pair of improbable twins separated at birth and reunited as adults, and despite mixed reviews went on to gross $216.6 million worldwide (lucky for Arnie and DeVito, who agreed to take 20% of the box office, scoring their biggest-ever paydays as a result).
In that respect it's a fine formula to follow, and though Brolin certainly doesn't have the star power of peak-era Arnie, Dinklage's popularity courtesy of Game of Thrones could make this a breakout hit.
It's unlikely to follow Twins' narrative to the letter, but the hook - pairing two polar opposite actors together as family - sounds pretty much identical.
