9 Ways DC Could Respond To Spider-Man Joining The MCU

5. Focus Public Attention On Those Upcoming Unique And Exciting Projects

Right now is a time for action for Warner Bros.: they want to compete against Marvel€™s already well-established Cinematic Universe, and they want to do it fast, but with another Spider-Man movie on its way in 2017, before any standalone Batman or Superman films will make it to cinemas, it might not be fast enough. How much audience goodwill (read: pocket money) is there going to be left for another studio doing virtually the same thing? With Spider-Man set to be a major box office property again in just two years, Warner Bros. and DC may not have time to waste on stories that audiences have already seen. Warners/DC could recognise the potential fatigue, forget about more standalone Superman and Batman films and focus on getting the public's attention for their other, more unique projects instead. Suicide Squad, for one, seems like a step in the right direction - it€™s got a great cast, sounds deliciously dark, and is like nothing Marvel currently has planned. DC could start highlighting just what it's doing differently to Marvel, as opposed to what it's doing the same.
