Alternate Versions Of Every MCU Movie We Almost Got To See
9. Avengers: Age Of Ultron Featuring Spider-Man & Captain Marvel
Shortly after the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Joss Whedon confirmed that he made an effort to include both Spider-Man and Captain Marvel in the film's closing sequence, where The Avengers set up base at their new Upstate New York HQ.
It ultimately didn't happen, however, because a deal with Sony over Spider-Man couldn't be finalised in time, and Marvel Studios didn't want to rush to hire an actress to play Captain Marvel.
Would It Have Worked?: Considering how overstuffed Age of Ultron already was, and how it had to introduce Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany), it was probably for the best not to pile Spidey and Carol Danvers on top of this.
Given how brilliantly the web-slinger was introduced in Civil War and how pivotal Captain Marvel will be to Avengers 4, it looks like they went the right way with these characters.
