Rat Race is the ultimate leave-your-brain-at-the-door-and-just-laugh comedy. You've probably heard of it. You've maybe even seen it before. If you did, you've more than likely dismissed it as a too-silly and even unfunny wacky comedy with odd characters and a stupid plot.

Well here's a friendly P.S.A: You're absolutely right. Rat Race, which was directed by Jerry Zucker and released at the turn of the century, is one of the most ridiculous films you'll ever see. But that's exactly why it deserves so much more credit. It knows it's bonkers and thrives on it, leaning into it with every scene and every piece of dialogue.

The plot sees a bunch of people in a casino forced to race against each other in hopes of winning two million dollars. The cast includes Seth Green, John Cleese, Amy Smart, Breckin Meyer, Rowan Atkinson, Cuba Gooding Jr, Whoopi Goldberg and Jon Lovitz, all of them having the most amount of fun an actor can in a movie.

Sure, it's nuts, but it's also wonderfully self-aware and will make you laugh no matter what. It's perfect if you're after something light and silly, and you're bound to find something you love about it.

Aidan Whatman hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
