Ant Man & The Wasp Reviews: 10 Early Reactions You Need To See

8. The Action Sequences Are Terrific

Marvel Studios
"It wholeheartedly embraces the inherent ridiculousness of Scott’s powers and the predicaments he often finds himself in -- mostly by staging some of the most inventive action scenes attempted in any movie franchise, not just Marvel’s." - IGN
"Director Peyton Reed again excels at exploring the comedic possibilities of playing with scale. Rudd’s blend of childlike wonder and bafflement at his suit’s abilities continue to impress." - IndieWire

Though the first Ant-Man boasted plenty of visual flair during its pint-sized action sequences, it also suffered a little due to Peyton Reed's lack of experience in the action arena, having only worked on rom-coms prior to winning the Marvel gig.

The second time around, however, it appears that Reed has learned a lot and comes to the table decidedly more prepared, with his helming of the action sequences earning considerable praise from the press.

Much like the first film, there seems to be a playful affinity for toying with shrinking and embiggenning people and objects, ensuring the movie's action serves up something fresh quite unlike anything else out there.
