8. No-Eyed Fish Are Scared Of Light?!

During the quest portion of the movie, Arthur discovers that he and Mera have to head to the Trench to find the Trident where they meet unimaginable horrors like the xenomorph-like mutant fish-men who live there and seem to want to eat them.

They over-run the boat the pair have commandeered and attempt to drag the pair to the murky depths in a sequence that includes one of the most visually-arresting shots of the entire movie. They only escape because Arthur uses flares to scare them off, since they're from the depths and aren't used to light, so are terrified of it.

There are two major issues here. First, the creatures clearly are not limited to the depths of the ocean, because when we encounter them, they're guarding the surface. So why would they be scared of light?

And secondly, they DON'T HAVE ANY EYES. How can they even see the flares to be scared of them?!
