Avengers: Age Of Ultron Ending - What Happens And What Does It Mean?
7. Hulk Disappears Into The Ocean
What Happens: After saving Black Widow from Sokovia, Hulk commandeers the Avengers Quinjet (throwing Ultron out in the process). When Widow tries to get him to turn around, he shuts off communication and flies off into the distance. Later, Romanoff gets a report on a potential finding of the plane in the Pacific Ocean, although the stealth function makes it impossible to confirm. What Does It Mean: Throughout the film, the idea of Bruce Banner and Natasha Romanoff running off together (Betty who?) comes up, but Bruce is clearly haunted by the events in South Africa earlier, where Scarlet Witch got in his head and he wound up in a destructive battle with Iron Man. The way Hulk smiles in his final shot definitely confirms Banner is control, making a conscious decision to disappear. Assuming the object discovered by Fury at the end is indeed Hulk's plane, odds are he's hiding out on a desert island, far away from humanity and any potential victims. Of course, what this really does is put the Green Goliath out of action until he's need in a later film without having to consistently explain his whereabouts
