4. Thor
How Would It Change The Franchise?Probably in a big way. Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor are the three big headliners in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so losing one of those cash cows could be a big deal. But it could also mean more movies focusing on characters we haven't seen yet (Black Panther and Doctor Strange come to mind). If Ultron kills Thor, it would also have the added effect of being a big impact, as I said with the Hulk. The God of Thunder felled by a genocidal robotman has built something that destroys god. And if rumors that Ultron was created by Tony Stark turn out to be true, then that will add guilt on Tony's shoulders. Oh, and what happens when Odin finds out his son is dead? Will he be willing to let the Avengers get off without a fight? This could lead to some Asgardian-level ass-kicking coming to Midgard. And it may even mean a future Thor resurrection, Christ-style, in a future film. Again, not the first time it's happened. It could also mean the potential for someone else to get their hands on the hammerlike Beta Ray Bill or Eric Masterson. Will It Happen?Chris Hemsworth, like some other actors, has apparently butted heads with Marvel over salary. And, like with Scarlett Johansson, Marvel may just say to him, "we've got a whole universe of characters to choose from, so we don't need you." I'm not sure how far Hemsworth contract with Marvel extends, but if it only goes as far as Age of Ultron, there's a chance the God of Thunder will face his own personal Ragnarok.
