Avengers Endgame: 15 Under-Appreciated Moments (That Deserve More Love)
8. Old Steve NOT Talking About His Life
While audiences got to see the purely joyful moment of Steve and Peggy finally getting their dance, Steve's refusal to speak of their life was more meaningful than anything.
It gives audiences the possibility that maybe things did work out with Peggy, or maybe they didn't. Maybe Steve found a different love of his life, maybe Steve found a different purpose entirely. What matters most, however, is that Steve is no longer defined by missed opportunity or duty.
He was able to have that dance he lamented missing for so long. He was able to live that life Tony Stark told him to live.
For a long time, Steve Rogers was defined by his role as Captain America, and outside of that persona, he barely had a life of his own away from work. He was barely able to be Steve Rogers, too busy belonging to everyone else to be his own person.
That he kept the events of his life to himself, that we as an audience only see a glimpse of the long life he lived - it means that he finally got to live for himself. Which is a worthy ending for a soldier and hero like Steve Rogers.
