If you were wondering where Lady Sif had gone in the wake of Thor: The Dark World, it doesn't actually matter now, because she's clearly not coming back. According to Joe Russo, she's "gone", you see.

Impact:

Well, Thor seemed barely bothered when his new female friend Valkyrie (who had been intended to be a romantic interest in early versions of the script) disappeared in Infinity War, though he was distracted, so it's doubtful he'd even remember Sif now.

There should have been a chance to wrap up her story in Ragnarok, but she was a conspicuous absentee, despite there being an opportunity for her and Thor to actually get together in the wake of his relationship with Jane Foster ending. Jaime Alexander's Blindspot filming schedule put an end to that.

Still, it would have been nice to see her story dealt with on-screen somehow.
