10. Groot

Last Time

In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2, Groot 2.0 (he's not the same Groot as the original Guardians movie, he's his son, according to James Gunn) was a baby. A Baby Groot, to be precise.

He was impetuous, dangerous and compulsive as you'd expect from a child and he was very keen to get involved with the fighting, even when it was way too dangerous for an infant. Still powerful, he was good in battle ironically, but his brain function wasn't quite up to the same level as his father.

Now

Thanks to the Vol 2 post-credits stinger, we know that Baby Groot is now Teen Groot - though he's not being called that in the marketing any more. And by the look of it, he's going to be everything you'd expect from a surly teenager. So not as much enthusiasm, lots more sarcasm and a worse smell, presumably.

Rumour has it, he and Peter Parker bond when they meet, so hopefully he's not going to be the closed off loner he seemed in that post-credits. And as a bonus fact, he's going to be lending part of his body to Thor for the handle of his new weapon, Stormbreaker.
