Avengers: Infinity War - 6 Times Infinity Stones Looked REALLY Weak In The MCU
3. Kaecilius Ignores The Time Stone's Powers
During the climax of Kaecilius' attack on the Hong Kong sanctum, the villain appears to have got the upper hand until Doctor Strange turns up and uses the Eye Of Agamotto (and the Infinity Stone within) to turn back time and undo his catastrophic opening of the portal to the Dark Dimension.
It's a great scene that helps reinforce just how powerful the Time Stone is - and hopefully explaining how Strange will use it when Infinity War comes around - but it's undone slightly by how easily Kaecilius simply shrugs off the reversing time stream in order to attack Strange and his allies again.
In order to allow Mordo and Wong to not be taken back in time, Strange actively brings them into the spell, which makes sense, but Kaecilius merely sort of shakes the Stone's powers off and manages to get into the timeless bubble protecting his enemies. Obviously this ramps up the drama, but it makes it seem like the Time Stone has a loophole, as long as you realise it's being used. Which is really not that good for cementing its power.
