Batman: Every Main Live-Action Movie Suit Ranked

The earliest live action portrayal of the Batman has a rather adequate look to it. Lewis Wilson had the honor and distinction of being the first man to play Bats on film. The costume department gave him a decent look to work with. First of all, the ears on this suit are much better than its successor and the belt seems to be marginally functional, albeit too large and blocky. The color tones on this costume show up well in black and white, and the Bat symbol has a unique and fun look to it.

Unfortunately, there are also some things about this suit that are not so great. Just like the suit in 1949's Batman and Robin, it provides little to no protection for Bruce during his engagement with criminals. Wilson fits into his suit better than Robert Lowery fit into his, but it is still quite unappealing.

Despite its shortcomings, this first suit laid the groundwork for future installations to build upon.
