Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice - 8 Problems With The Established Universe

2. Will Audiences Care About The Second-Tier Heroes?

While Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is virtually a lock to earn a billion dollars, Suicide Squad will likely be a box office success and the Justice League pretty much sells itself on name alone, there are still a lot of question marks and doubts surrounding many of DC's upcoming projects.

Aquaman and The Flash are unknown quantities at the multiplex (expect 'from the director of Furious 7' to be all over the former's advertising) and with Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller's lack of star power the marketing will need to be on point, while it feels like Wonder Woman is introduced being in Dawn Of Justice before her own solo feature mainly given the failure of female-led superhero flicks Elektra and Catwoman a decade ago, which is a ridiculous statement to be making in 2015.

Outside of those sort of well known names it only gets worse. Green Lantern is one of the biggest box office bombs in history, so a lot of effort will need to be put into setting the reboot vastly apart from the Ryan Reynolds-led flop, Shazam has the benefit of one of Hollywood's most popular and likeable stars in Dwayne Johnson but could potentially be a tough sell to casual audiences, and is there really anybody crying out for Cyborg to get his own movie?

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
