Batman Vs. Superman: 3 Reasons We Needed A Wonder Woman Movie Instead

2. It Would Give Us A Break From All The "Realism"

circe Ignoring the fact that these movies stem from comic books, the very definition of fiction, Batman and Superman are fairly realistic at the core. We have an orphan who trained to the peaked of human condition, mentally and physically, and fights crime., and (obviously less realistically) an alien orphan who gains his power from our sun rays and chooses to fight crime. But then Man Of Steel's realism came in the approach to establishing Superman's humanity. Wonder Woman, on the other hand, is a magical being created by other magical beings (depending on the origin) who is part of a magical female warrior race who also fights crime. She's not even closely grounded in realism and that's great. A Wonder Woman film could be enhanced by fantasy just like Batman and Superman films are enhanced by realism. One of the main reasons Batman is so loved comes down to the fact that he is merely human and has accomplished so much. For him to fight a villain like Killer Croc on the big screen, something is lost. As for Superman, he needs to be grounded in realism because how else are we supposed to sympathize with a character most people see as rather boring as a result of his power? But all of this realism gets a little dull after a while, and can take away from the escapism that superhero movies of this kind offer cinema-goers. This is where Wonder Woman comes in: A Wonder Woman movie can thrive on the fantasy aspects, similar to the way in which Marvel's Thor movies do. And hey, wouldn't Themyscria look great in a live adaptation?
