Batman Vs. Superman: 3 Reasons We Needed A Wonder Woman Movie Instead

3. It Makes More Sense From A Story Point-Of-View

Wonder Woman So Warner Bros. has no problem with putting out an unconventional sequel. That's fine and all, but it doesn't make much sense because a) if you're going to be different and b) a Batman Vs. Superman movie faces a lot of obstacles. First off, the movie's plot has a lot, almost too much, on its plate from the very start. This movie serves as a sequel to Man of Steel, meaning the story must pick off from where Man of Steel left off.... meaning we need to see how the destruction of Metropolis was handled by Superman afterwards (as well as the citizens). Along with all the psychological effects the events had on Superman, we must see where humans stand on having a god-like alien among them and a whole new villain for Clark Kent to face - that alone could easily be a 2-hour movie. But now, with Batman in the mix, the movie is going to find itself struggling to carry all the plot. We must establish this new Batman, along with his supporting characters, whilst juggling his interactions with Superman (and perhaps even an enemy for Batman to face as well - you know, one who isn't a galactic threat or anything). All of that could have been avoided with a Wonder Woman movie. It allows for a new protagonist that has yet to get any silver screen time and could have therefore been a lot more focused. Not to mention the fact that, if Warner Bros. were truly interested in universe building, a Wonder Woman movie could have been a good place to start. While a short cameo could get the job done, perhaps - or at least could get the ball rolling on a spun-off franchise - Wonder Woman really has the potential to carry a film of her own.
