Birds Of Prey - Every Character Explained
4. Cassandra Cain
Cassandra Cain seems to have slipped under the radar a bit, possibly because we don’t know all that much about her role, or maybe because she’s not a household name. One of her alter egos certainly is though: Batgirl.
As well as being the fourth (of five) Batgirls, Cain has also gone by Kasumi, Black Bat and is currently known as Orphan. Considering Huntress was the third Batgirl, we might see an interesting dynamic between them.
However, given the lack of Batman in this movie and the Dark Knight being generally up in the air until Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson enter the fray, it’s safe to say the Batgirl moniker is off the table.
Given what we’ve seen of Cain so far, it appears to be pre-any superhero identity. It seems like Harley may be taking her under her wing, but just how much of Cain’s crazy origin remains intact is unclear.
Daughter of assassins David Cain & Lady Shiva, Cassandra was raised in isolation, making her an expert martial artist but rendering her mute, illiterate and socially awkward.
Originally, Batman helps her when he witnesses her saving Commissioner Gordon, but it might fall to Harley on the big screen.
