4. New Orleans, Baby

Once a story takes place in New Orleans it becomes one hundred times more interesting...and awesomer. Throwing Stallone and Kang in the good old city was probably the best decision made by the producers. Now in a post- Katrina world, the city still holds a top rank among America's attractions. It has a layered history that gives to both positive and negative aspects. Putting the city in the film is enough to get me excited because the city has become a character of its own. It's an environment that can add much depth to a story when used right. And what a great concept: Stallone kicking ass down by the bayou. Just gives a nice jazzy spin to the whole familiar scenario. Speaking of jazz, Hill has stated that he's injecting some very New Orlean esque music into the film which should make for some original moments and give the film a different feel. Director Simon West, to a lesser extent, applied the same type of touch to his and Jason Statham's underrated remake of The Mechanic and if it can work for the guy that directed Con Air and the star of The Transporter then it can most definitely work for our guys Stallone and Hill. Babes, beer, explosions and jazz all in New Orleans. Sounds like a hell of time.
