Bullet To The Head: 10 Reasons To Ignore The Hate

3. The Title

Depending on your movie preferences, Bullet to the Head either sounds like the worst title in the world or one of the best. And others may just simply be offended by it. Those who would roll their eyes at such a title are probably more excited for the new Terence Malick head scratcher hitting cinemas soon. And good for them. As for me, I prefer the lean, mean and totally politically incorrect title Stallone and company have chosen to go with. Although, the filmmakers can't take total credit - according to director Walter Hill, the film was originally titled Headshot, but they settled on Bullet to the Head because it was a closer translation of the title of the French graphic novel on which the story is based (sounds like another reason to be excited right there). Schwarzenegger's new film is titled The Last Stand and Willis has got A Good Day to Die Hard; Stallone simply quit the playing around, went to the meat and bones of what he was trying to sell and called his film Bullet to the Head. It will most certainly offend some especially in the current social and political climate. But, for others who know the difference between film and reality, it's just an invitation to what sounds like a great hour and a half eating popcorn, watching good guys win and bad guys lose all to the tune of some good old New Orleans beats.
