Captain America: Civil War - 10 Characters That Could Steal The Show

4. Everett Ross

You don€™t cast Martin Freeman €“ with all the charisma of Bilbo Baggins, Doctor Watson and Tim from The Office €“ in an uninteresting role. You just don€™t. The fact that Marvel Studios has signed this talented actor up (surely on a lengthy multi-film contract) strongly suggests that this character will become a very important part of the MCU going forward. It€™s already known that Freeman€™s character is called Everett Ross, and that he€™ll lead a new body called the Joint Counter Terrorist Centre. From this, it€™s easy to extrapolate the assumption that Freeman€™s Ross will be a big part of the governmental attempt to crack down on unchecked, unaccountable superheroes. Martin Freeman has incredible comedic timing, and it€™s hard to imagine a world where Kevin Feige and The Russo Brothers don€™t want a slice of that in Captain America: Civil War. Perhaps he€™ll be tasked with delivering some dry putdowns, and acting as a foil to the usually-funnier-than-everyone-else Avengers team members. Or maybe he€™ll also bring some of the darkness he displayed in TV€™s Fargo to the role, making Everett an unkind and unlikeable character for the superheroes of the world to rally against. If he can manage to be dark, funny and charismatic here, Martin Freeman could easily steal the show.
