5. Bucky Remembers Steve

The scene that was included partially as the post-credits scene in Ant-Man to announce the character's inclusion in Civil War as a ringer for Cap's team was expanded for the trailer footage. In it, Cap and Falcon come across Bucky trapped in the vice and seemingly exhausted, with this new footage including dialogue between Cap and his former childhood friend. And despite HYDRA's mind-control and years of abusive conditioning, Bucky apparently does remember Cap, as Crossbones had earlier mockingly told Cap in Lagos at the start of the trailer. When Cap asks Bucky if he remembers who he is, the Winter Soldier responds that he knows his mother's name and that Steve used to put newspaper in his shoe. They share a "heartfelt moment" as Bucky's memories bring him relief. The question of who has trapped him isn't quite as clear cut as it once might have seemed: where HYDRA was assumed to be the setters of the trap, scenes filmed in Berlin with Stan and Chadwick Boseman suggest that Black Panther will be actively hunting Bucky, and it could well be his work.
