6. Aquaman's Already Been Introduced (Sort Of)

Equally exciting, casting-wise, is the confirmation of Jason Momoa as Aquaman. Rumours have been flying that the former Khal Drogo would be making his leap to the silver screen in Dawn Of Justice for yonks, and whilst Warner Bros have all-but-confirmed his part, this announcement is the first time they've actually used his name in any sort of official capacity. The move sees DC surpassing Marvel once again since, along with getting to a female-fronted film before their rivals, they've also got the first (of two!) blockbuster superhero films starring people of colour. Four for you DC, you go DC. Considering the amount of iterations Aquaman's gone through in the comics, it'll be interesting to see which they choose for the film version. He's been a fun-loving sea-faring type, the King Of Atlantis clad in a slightly goofy orange scaled one-piece; there was a period in the nineties where they tried to make him more bad-ass, by replacing one of his hands with a hook and having him grow a beard; nowadays he fluctuates between the two. What is known is that, apparently, the character has already made a stealth appearance in Man Of Steel where Clark Kent, unconscious, disappears beneath the waves of a burning oil rig? Apparently he survived thanks to the intervention of a certain underwater hero...
