DCEU: 10 Mistakes Warner Bros. Has Made With Its DC Slate

3. The Bat-Family Remain M.I.A.

Once upon a time, it looked like Batman would be the character the entire DCEU was going to revolve around. Ben Affleck had been cast as the Caped Crusader, and as his Bruce Wayne had clearly been fighting crime for decades, there were plenty of storytelling opportunities.

Those seemingly included introducing members of the Bat-Family, as there was a time when movies revolving around both Batgirl and Nightwing were in the works. Filmmakers like Joss Whedon and Chris McKay were attached for a time, but both projects soon fell apart, and are now lost in the ether.

To call this a missed opportunity would be an understatement, but when we're getting a new Batman movie set during the Dark Knight's second year as a superhero, it's impossible to imagine his former sidekicks being given the chance to shine on the big screen (even with such disregard for continuity).

Now, these heroes remain on the shelf, when they should have been helping to flesh out the DCEU in a big way. That's unforgiveable, and means that the Bat-Family will be non-existent for the foreseeable.
