Ant-Man got pretty trippy when Scott Lang took a trip into the Quantum Realm, but that's going to have nothing on the Multiverse! Director Scott Derrickson acknowledged a desire to base the special effects in the movie around the kind of strange visuals used by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in the character's earliest adventures, explaining: "I was always interested in the extreme mind-bending visuals of the comics. I had very ambitious for the visuals, which were rooted in the comics, that movies havent done yet. And a lot of that goes back to the Ditko artwork and all that 60s craziness you see in the comics." While no one involved with the movie would get too specific in regards to what we should expect, Kevin Feige did at least describe as scene which takes place when Strange meets The Ancient One for the first time. " sequence culminates in what we, behind-the-scenes, refer to as the Magical Mystery Tour, which literally takes him in a shocking and very fast way through the multiverse. The images can be just as trippy for lack of a better term as those Ditko images were in the past. So, that, we hope, is going to set this movie apart from any of the other movies. And, from any other movie." It's fair to say that that so far definitely appears to be the case, and while 2016 will see the release of some epic comic book movies, Doctor Strange is most definitely going to be the most unique!
