Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness: Every Main Character Ranked From Worst To Best

2. Wanda Maximoff

It seems that with every appearance in the MCU Wanda Maximoff makes, she is utterly different from the previous one. She has gone from being a villain to an Avenger, to the most powerful being in the franchise, to a grief-stricken mother and partner, and now finally back to a villain.

However, this Wanda couldn’t have been more different to the one we saw in Age of Ultron. Seven years ago she was a naïve kid that chose the wrong side. Now, she is the Scarlet f*cking Witch, a powerful sorceress who is not afraid to use and abuse her powers to get what she wants.

Every villain must have a compelling reason for doing what they are doing, otherwise audiences find it difficult to care. This wasn’t a problem for Wanda, firstly as audiences have gotten to know her ever since her debut in 2015, but also because her motives, even if not her actions, were completely understandable.

She believed that wasn’t a monster, she was a mother. Doctor Strange would argue that this was the other way around, but in reality she was more a mix of both. All she wanted was to hold her children in her arms again, but she was willing to destroy innocent people to get there.
