6. Adrian Lester

A veteran of both screen and stage, Adrian Lester is probably best known for playing suave con artist mastermind Michael "Mickey Bricks" Stone in the BBC series Hustle. He did seem destined for a sparkling career in Hollywood at one point but that didn't work out so he returned to the small screen instead. Their loss! That's not to demean his talent, however. He's highly regarded in the theatre world and Hustle showed off just how versatile he can be. He'd often have to play the many different roles his character was playing so he had heaps of screen presence, never a bad thing for a guest star to have, especially when they're one of the key people that the Doctor and Clara are interacting with. He'd be attainable, too, since he's previously guest starred in Merlin, so he's not averse to a guest role. It might also give him the exposure to reinvigorate his screen career which may be another reason he'd want to sign on. As with all the actors on the list, though, it's the fans who'd benefit the mot. They'd get an interesting character to enjoy over and over again.
