Nominations: 1 - Best Documentary Feature

Legendary documentarian Steve James (Hoop Dreams) takes a fascinating look at this small, family-owned community bank which remains the only financial institution to be charged with a crime following the subprime mortgage crisis.

Considering how many documentaries have been released in the last ten years taking banks to task, it's a novel approach to go the opposite way and show how Uncle Sam aggressively went after a bank that was unlucky enough to have a few bad apples on its payroll.

Not every argument James makes totally works, but it's easy to sympathise with the focal family and their expensive, five-year-long fight against the government. Definitely the weakest Best Documentary nominee this year, but still a solid effort.
