Nominations: 1 - Best Foreign Language Film

The Hungarian Best Foreign Language Film entry is a fascinating metaphysical drama about two lonely strangers who find out they share the same dream - meeting as deer in the forest - and how this affects both their waking life and their slumber.

On Body and Soul is, in a word, weird, and its slow-moving, subtle narrative won't be for all tastes, but the central performances from Géza Morcsányi and Alexandra Borbély help the film materialise into an unexpectedly sweet and touching romance.

You'll need an open mind to follow the film down its increasingly bizarre rabbit-hole, but there's nothing else like it out there, and it fully commits to the peculiarity of its premise.
